Breast Implant Illness and CIRS from mold illness. What is the connection?

Dr. Medina recently had the opportunity to sit down and speak with Lena DelBianco, one of the founders of Wholistic Renewal, a virtual platform that allows you to work with a Functional Medicine Practitioner 1 on 1 from the comfort of your own home. Lena has first hand experience dealing with Breast Implant Illness (BII) and she was generous enough to share her personal story of illness, full recovery and now thriving after BII. You can see the entire interview here.

It was fascinating to discover how much overlap there is in symptoms associated with CIRS due to mold illness and BII. Both conditions present as a cluster of symptoms seemingly unrelated, yet are consistently found in those suffering with either condition. Both conditions are more often than not, missed, ignored or completely misunderstood by medical providers. Both conditions seem to create an overactive immune response in the body causing symptoms like chronic inflammation, joint and muscle pain, food and chemical sensitivities as well as autoimmune conditions.

Only through taking a holistic approach of detoxing the body, repairing and rebuilding the gut and immune systems can healing begin. There are no medications that can address fully the complexity of both conditions along.

You can read the detailed blog article detailing the interview here.
